About the 2023-2024 Scholarship Program:

Application deadline: Friday, March 15, 2024, at 11:59 PM ET

The Maryland Chapter for HIMSS is pleased to announce the 2023-2024 Scholarship Program. Maryland HIMSS will offer TWO $2,500 scholarships for students enrolled in a part-time or full-time degree program in a healthcare information and management-related discipline. Scholarships are awarded to HIMSS student members who exhibit academic excellence and have the potential to be future leaders in the healthcare information and management systems industry.

Requirements

Applicants must meet all of the following requirements:

Eligibility Criteria 

  • Be a resident of the state of Maryland
  • Must be enrolled in an undergraduate, graduate, or doctoral program in health information and management systems-related discipline at an accredited academic institution.
  • Must have at least a 3.0 GPA

Previous MDHIMSS scholarship winners are ineligible.

Details

In addition to the scholarship, MDHIMSS will award the recipients with a one-year membership to MDHIMSS, one-year assignment as a student member of the MDHIMSS Program Committee, and free attendance at the MDHIMSS educational programs for one year.

Scholarship applicants will be reviewed based on the following categories and sub-criteria. Please include all relevant accomplishments in either your personal statement or resume.

You will need to submit the following information to be considered:

  • College transcript & proof of registration
  • Resume
  • Personal statement
  • Letter of recommendation
